LG G3 Release Date Draws Near As Company Files Patent For 'G3', Rumored Specs Include 5.5" 2K Display, Fingerprint Scanner, 3GB RAM

In case you have been looking forward for the LG G3 release date, then you may be expecting the phone in the next couple of weeks.

In a report by Gotta Be Mobile, LG Electronics has recently filed for a patent to the USPTO patent office to for the trademark of the name 'G3' under the mobile phones category.

If this means something, it shows that LG is already preparing for the launch of its device, probably during the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.

Specwise, the LG G3 is turning out to be a tough competition for the unannounced Galaxy S5 by Samsung as well as the One 2 M8 by HTC.

The Android-powered handset allegedly boasts a 5.5-inch screen with 2K (2560 x 1440) display, 3GB of RAM, and either a Snapdragon 800 SoC, or a homemade chipset by LG.

Other notable specs also include a 16MP camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), a fingerprint scanner and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Weeks before the MWC, it is already expected to be a battlefield of monster phones with future-proof specs.
