NBA Trade Rumors: Deron Williams Wants Brooklyn To Stay Put! Will The Impatient Russian Owner Listen To Him?

The NBA Trade Rumors are heating up, while some teams want to make changes, some players want their team to stay put. Deron Williams believes in their team, but will the Nets owner, who seems very impatient for results, listen to him?

Deron Williams talked to Nets Daily and he wants the team to stay put. Their 2014 record is slowly negating their bad start" "I don't see us making any moves--last time I said that, I think, I got traded," (laughs)"that's the quote for the day."

The Nets problems cannot be sold by a personnel change. They already have all the pieces. They are a contender when healthy, especially if Williams is healthy: "I just want to get healthy again, man. If I get healthy, I know what can happen. It's been a frustrating two years for me injury-wise. It's something I can't really control. Hopefully I can figure it out this summer and then go from there."

His teammate, Andrei Kirilenko who turned down a $10 million offer to join the Nets for $ 3million: "Finally, we start clicking, we start doing the right things on the floor," Kirilenko said. "We start playing more consistently."

On Brook Lopez, who is also on the trade rumor mill when he became injured: "It was good to see him out and about. He said this was only the second time leaving his house... It's been a tough couple of years for him, he can't catch a break. I'm praying for him and hope he can make a speedy recovery."

The main trade rumor for the Nets is sparked by Brook Lopez injury. But even before that, Brooklyn explored trading for Pau Gasol, who has an expiring contract worth $ 19million. The Nets are way beyond the salary cap, and Lopez is owed two more seasons beyond this one.

ESPN's Marc Stein has the skinny on that failed transaction: "..especially since Lopez's health misfortune extinguishes any realistic hope of Pau-for-Brook talks re-igniting between now and the Feb. 20 trade deadline. Yet the mere concept of Gasol and Lopez exchanging jerseys nonetheless gets you thinking, because Lopez is owed $32.5 million over the next two seasons after this one."

The Lakers also need their cap flexibility after committing $ 48.5 million for two years to Kobe Bryant. They really need to decide whether Brook is part of their future. The Nets, on the other hand, don't see much improvement for Gasol to trade away a young, skilled center, even if he's injured.

Brooklyn's other trade piece (aside from Deron Williams himself) is Paul Pierce who is an expiring contract. At this point though, they can't trade an expiring and take more salary unless it means a title run and there aren't any prospects for that.
