Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Report Claims Tech Giant Plans To Launch Foldable Handsets, Galaxy Note 4 And 5 Included In The List

For sometime now, there have been rumors about upcoming Samsung phones for 2014. Some of these rumors claim that the company will be releasing a folding display for its smartphones. That rumor may finally become true next year, according to a report.

The Korea Herald, a news site based on Korea, recently reports that the Korean tech giant will release a bendable display this year, and a folding display next year.

If there are two smartphones which could be the possible recipient of such display features, those would be the Galaxy Note 4 which is due to be released later this year, and the Galaxy Note 5, which is expected to make its debut in 2015.

We know. It's still more than a year away from now, but if this rumor is proven to be true, then we could expect a revolution in the mobile market with the emergence of foldable displays.

In the report, Samsung will apparently invest about $1.9 billion for the production of the flexible display. Meanwhile, the bent display, which may come to the Galaxy Note 4 this year is expected to sell better than the lackluster Galaxy Ground, which only made it in a few select markets.

"The bent device is the first step toward testing the market and gauging how it would react to its foldable smartphones that are to be unveiled in the second half of next year", according to KDB Daewoo Securities analyst Song Jong-ho.
