iPad Pro Rumors: Is It Possible For The 12.9" Apple Slate To Be Both Super Huge And Super Slim?

iPad Pro rumors are still running rampant in spite the relative silence about the 12.9-inch tablet. But if you put all these rumors, do they make any sense?

According to a recent report by BGR, a new rumor points to a claim that the new iPhone 6 as well as the iPad Pro would sport much thinner frames. This is certainly something we should see once they are released.

But while a thinner iPhone is more probable, that can not be said with the rumored 12.9-inch tablet.

For the past months we have read rumors that Apple is ditching Retina in favor of crisper 2K and 4K displays. Allegedly, the tablet will also replace the MacBook Air lineup, as it is tipped to sport a tablet-laptop hybrid design.

If these rumors are true, then getting a thinner iPad Pro is difficult. First, Screens with bigger resolution need to be thicker in order to pack more pixels and generate color. In the same way, a laptop replacement should by any means be as equal or stronger than its predecessor, which can only be attained by getting bigger chipsets.

While Apple has reportedly been working on 64-bit chipsets which are much thinner than the ones inside the iPad Air, we haven't seen them yet. So in a nutshell, Apple will definitely need to cancel out one of these rumors.

The iPad Pro is certainly a big tablet, in fact the biggest among Apple's lineup of slates, so it will retain that feature. On the other hand, the Cupertino company may not be able to develop a thinner and lighter tablet, given the rumored specs it has right now.

We'll see what Apple would do about it in the coming months.
