Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2014: Details For New BB10-Powered Handset Revealed, No Physical Keyboard On-Board But Packs Decent Specs

We all thought there would be no upcoming Blackberry phones this 2014, but after the company refused to get sold, and a number of encouraging talks from its new CEO, the Canadian manufacturer is now set to release a new handset this year.

According to a report by BGR, Blackberry is already working with Foxconn to develop a new smartphone that may be pegged for release later this year.

Codenamed Jakarta, this would be the first Blackberry that will be made in part by Foxconn. Of course, that may be a positive side as Foxconn is already a known manufacturer in the business, particularly as it supplies parts for Apple products.

The report also leaked some of the possible specs of the said handset. These include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Adreno 305, 1.5GB of RAM and Adreno 305 for decent graphics performance.

Unfortunately, those are only the details available about the upcoming Blackberry phone.

In case this phone gets released this year, one crucial factor that could make or break its existence is pricing. With dirt-cheap Android phones and relatively affordable WP-powered devices, it would be difficult for Blackberry to penetrate the market with a steep price for the device.
