Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date: German Carrier Teases Galaxy S5 Submerged In Water, New Flagship Attempts To Dethrone Sony From Water-Resistance Crown

For the past couple of years, water and dust resistance has become synonymous to the Xperia flagship lineup. Well, not anymore.

On the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date, another water resistant Android-device will be born - and it is poised to kill.

According to a report by Android Authority, German carrier O2 recently upped a registration page of a smartphone submerged water. Of course if you only look at the image, there are no signs that it is the upcoming Samsung flagship.

However, a closer look to its surroundings, the filenames of images, and even the URL all shout 'Samsung Galaxy S5'.

With a title Anticipation High 5 (Google translated by Android Authority), it could have just confirmed that the new device will become water resistant. Of course, we know that Sony's Xperia phones are currently the more dominant in this niche, but the Korean tech giant has also developed IP certified phones in the past year, the Galaxy S4 Active.

A red mark also states that the device will be launched later this month, which coincides with Samsung's unveiling plans later at MWC in Barcelona.

So do you think Samsung will launch a water resistant phone that is not simply a variant of the original flagship?
