Justice League Movie Cast Rumors: Dwayne Johnson As John Stewart AKA Green Lantern; 'The Rock' Twitter Sparks Speculation! Who Else Is In the Movie?
The Justice League Movie has yet to be officially confirmed, but for all intents and purposes, it's pretty much a go. The cast rumors have commenced, is Dwayne Johnson one of them?
The initial report about the Justice League movie was from the same report that confirmed the "Man of Steel" sequel. From The Hollywood Reporter: "Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, but it is unclear who will play Batman in the new film. A release date of 2015 has been set, with tentative plans for a Flash movie appearing in 2016 and a Justice League movie in 2017, sources said. "
The 2015 release date has been moved to May 6, 2016.It is not known how that will affect the 2017 target date of the Justice League movie.
The Cast rumors are not affected by any delay though. The public's demand for information will remain strong no matter what delays are announced. Thus, any hint will be considered.
Last month, Dwayne Johnson posted a photo on Instagram which showed him with producer Hiram Garcia. Apparently, this is their meeting for the HBO comedy series, "Ballers" in which Garcia is one of the producers. He also included this caption:
"Known this beast since he was 15. I was on the football field playing for Miami, he was leading the Hurricanes marching band as Drum Major. He spent years of working on my WWE story lines & Rock monologues. Then years of being on every movie set with me learning the film business from top to bottom. Today, he's one of the best and most sought after producers in Hollywood. Brilliant, relentless and one big motherf*cker! The last hashtag ignited the speculation. John Stewart AKA Green Lantern is a member of the Justice League along with Superman. They were never seen as rivals or enemies.
That was exactly the point of IGN. They speculated that it was a clue about The Rock being in Justice League. It took almost a month before Dwayne Johnson tweeted his response:

IGN posted the necessary update to their previous report, but they ended with this question: "The Rock tweeted this following IGN's tweet about this story. Make of it what you will, but remember he did say he was doing a DC movie. And, really, who makes a Green Lantern/Superman hashtag apropos of nothing?"
Other characters rumored for the Justice League are the Martian Manhunter, The Flash and Hawkgirl. There were Aquaman rumors as well that involved Jason Momoa but they are still unconfirmed as of this writing.
