Karen Gillan Slams Doctor Who Criticism As Season 8 Peter Capaldi Takes On The Daleks [SPOILERS]: Steven Moffat To Bring Back Whovian Favorite After Clockwork Droids In Premiere Episode?

As "Doctor Who" season 8 continues filming, spoilers have surfaced that could indicate the return of the most popular monster in the series.

Spoilers from Doctor Who TV indicate that the Daleks—despite being featured in the 50th Anniversary Special as well as the Christmas Special—might be returning to season 8.

A recent Star article suggests that Peter Capaldi will be facing off against the Daleks on "Doctor Who" season 8, possibly as soon as episode 2.

Spoilers revealed that writer Phil Ford will be scripting episode 2 of season 8. He has contributed numerous stories to "The Sarah Jane Adventures," a "Doctor Who" spin-off.

“I’m over the moon in a TARDIS! And I don’t know how I’ve managed to keep quiet about it for so long!" exclaimed Ford.

"It’s a huge honor to write for Doctor Who at any time, to be writing Peter Capaldi’s second adventure is that to infinity! I can’t wait to get on to set!”

His hint at "Doctor Who" season 8 episode 2?

"Behind enemy lines."

Sure sounds like the Daleks, right?

Meanwhile, a "Doctor Who" alum is stepping up to defend the series from criticism of the portrayal and writing of female characters.

Gillan was posted the question at the Sci Fi Expo panel, and she responded, "I just don’t understand that because I feel like [with Amy] I had a very rounded, interesting, flawed and layered character to play."

“And I wore skirts but Steven Moffat had nothing to do with that! He doesn’t care about costumes. So I don’t really understand that if I’ve got to be honest.”
