‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: ‘Grey's Anatomy’ Actress Will Play Enzo’s Love Interest, Who Else Will Join Stefan, Elena, Damon, Caroline?

"Vampire Diaries" season 5 will introduce two new characters to its cast, including Enzo's love interest, who will be played by a former "Grey's Anatomy" actress, and a gay student at Whitmore College.

Heather Hemmens, star of "Hellcats" and recently on "Grey's Anatomy," will play Enzo's (Michael Malarkey) love interest, Maggie, E! News reports.

Heather Hemmens' Maggie will appear in "Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 19, according to new spoilers.

In episode nine, "The Cell," Enzo told Damon (Ian Somerhalder) the story of a girl he fell in love with in 1953: Maggie, a former lab assistant to Dr. Whitmore, who performed experiments on him and other vampires, E! News reports.

"She wasn't part of the torture and experiments. For the longest while, she didn't realize Dr. Whitmore was doing more than just observing my behavior," Enzo said in the episode. "I didn't have the heart to tell her. I was just so glad of the company. When she finally realized what was going on here, she couldn't bear it. So she said she was sorry and she left."

E! News spoilers describe Maggie as "a kind, warm and engaging medical student, with a compassionate soul and a lot of courage, which will be tested when her feelings for Enzo lead her down a dangerous situations."

Chris Brochu will also join the cast of "Vampire Diaries" season 5 as Luke, who bonds with Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) at Whitmore College. But don't worry, shippers, Luke is not a threat - he's gay.

Brochu, who has appeared on "CSI: NY," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Melissa & Joey," will make his "Vampire Diaries" debut in season 5, episode 16 (scheduled to air March 20, 2014) and is set to appear in multiple episodes.

E! News spoilers describe Luke as someone with "unexpected insight into what the war between the witches and travelers," and he'll help the cast figure out how all of this will affect the doppelgangers.

"The Vampire Diaries" returns Thursday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
