Hannibal Season 2, the American psychological thriller-horror from NBC, will debut this February 28. That is one week from now. The show has been a critical success although suffered much in terms of ratings. Hannibal, which is created by Bryan Fuller, is based on characters and elements appearing in the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. It stars Mads Mikelsen as the brilliant forensic psychiatrist, cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter and Hugh Dancy as the gifted criminal profiler and hunter of serial killers Will Graham. Because of the positive general reviews, people behind the show are hoping to gain in viewers. If you are someone who hasn't seen the show but is very curious why it is tagged by different entertainment portals as among the best, there's a chance for you to see Hannibal, uninterrupted.

Gigaom.com reported that NBC has launched a campaign called the #13HourDevour. This is a social media event intended to encourage new and old fans of the show to binge view the Hannibal Season 1. Gigaom.com wrote:

Fans of the show - known as "Fannibals" - will be able to converge on Twitter and Tumblr beginning at 12 PM EST on Sunday, Feb. 23rd to marathon the series.

Not only will fans watching be able to interact with Fuller, members of the show's cast (including star Hugh Dancy, who will participate in a live Twitter Q&A under the hashtag #QforHugh) and potential "celebrity guests," but there's the promise of winning prizes and viewing exclusive content. (Plus, bathroom breaks are built into the schedule - each new episode will begin at the top of the hour, taking fans all the way to 1 AM EST.)

NBCU president of digital media Rob Hayes told in a phone interview that the #13HourDevour is launched to attract more 'Fannibals,' the term that avid viewers want to be fondly called.

"How can we not only do something for the existing fans, but get people who are friends of the existing fans, or fans of the zeitgeist, interested. Binging is a great way to get fans involved," he said.
