Liam Payne, Girlfriend Sophia Smith Drunk At The BRIT Awards With One Direction? ‘I’d Say Payno Is Dyin,’ Niall Horan Teases On Twitter About Hangover

Liam Payne and his girlfriend Sophia Smith looked rather drunk at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday night. Fellow One Direction bandmate Niall Horan seemed to confirm that Liam Payne and his girlfriend Sophia Smith had a wild night, when he took to Twitter to tease Liam about a hangover.

Liam looked a little worse for wear when he accepted the award for Global Success and Best Video (Best Song Ever) at the BRIT Awards with his One Direction bandmates, announcing to the audience that he was a "little drunk," Entertainmentwise reports.

Liam Payne and his girlfriend Sophia Smith were later photographed in the early hours of Thursday morning leaving Sony's after-party, looking rather bleary-eyed and covered in a sheen of inebriation.

One Direction's Niall Horan teased Liam the next day about his night of intoxication on Twitter.

Louis Tomlinson tweeted: "Can't thank everyone who voted enough :) had a great night last night !"

The Irish singer replied: "id say payno is dyin, I don't dare call him" (sic)

After the BRIT Awards show, Liam spoke at a press conference and still seemed quite drunk.

Liam repeated: "I'm feeling a little drunk, that's the first statement out there."

According to Cambio, he also admitted backstage at the event (while sneaking a sip of his drink), "I'll be honest, I'm feeling a little drunk."

We doubt this is the first time Liam and Sophia have had a crazy night: Payne, 20, and his 24-year-old girlfriend go way back. The One Direction singer and the gorgeous brunette have known each other since their school days at St. Peter's Collegiate School in England, Hollywood Life reports. In fact, Sophia Smith was Liam Payne's childhood crush, and he reportedly was turned down 22 times before he finally started dating his bombshell girlfriend!
