Henry Cavill News, Update: ‘Batman VS. Superman’ Star Appearing On ‘Man From U.N.C.L.E’ As Napoleon Solo; Release Date For Guy Ritchie Film Scheduled Jan. 2015

Henry Cavill news, update: “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill, who played the role of Superman and will be reprising it for the upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” movie with Ben Affleck is appearing once again on the big screen as Napoleon Solo on “Man from U.N.C.L.E.”

According to Variety magazine, Warner Bros. is scheduled to release the Guy Richie-directed remake in January 16, 2015. Production on the project has been underway since September, with shooting taking place on location in London and Italy. The film will cover the first mission for American spy Napoleon Solo and Soviet spy Illya Kuryakin.

The British actor was cast as Napoleon Solo in the film. It was reported that it was the role Tom Cruise was suppose to have at one point. “Lone Ranger” star Armie Hammer will be playing the role of Illya Kuryakin and Hugh Grant will also appear in “Man From U.N.C.L.E.”

Celebrity Cafe reported that Steve Soderbergh was supposed to direct the film and George Clooney one of the stars. It didn’t materialized, however, and the directing job went to Madonna’s ex, who also directed the Robert Downey Jr. “Sherlock Holmes” movie for Warner Bros.

Henry Cavill is now working on “Batman vs. Superman” in Detroit, Michigan where the film is being shot. The Hollywood hunk has been spotted at bars and some other local areas in the city.

The film, which is being directed by Zack Snyder, is scheduled for a 2016 release. “Batman vs. Superman” will feature Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
