‘Homeland’ Season 4 Spoilers: Brody’s Wife Won’t Return After Air Date? Morena Baccarin Signs On To ABC Medical Drama ‘Warriors’

"Homeland" season 4 may not see the return of Brody's wife, played by Morena Baccarin, after the air date this fall. Morena Baccarin, who plays Jessica Brody, was downgraded from being a "Homeland" season 4 series regular, and just signed on to a new ABC medical drama, "Warriors."

Morena Baccarin and Morgan Saylor, who played Brody's teenage daughter Dana, will not return to "Homeland" season 4 as series regulars, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed after TVLine first reported the news in December.

Though it is likely that Baccarin and Saylor will return to guest star on a few episodes after the season 4 air date, Baccarin will be busy with a new venture: playing Tory Sterling in "Warriors." According to RTE, the show is inspired by the Walter Reed Military Medical Center and focuses on military doctors and nurses as they work with wounded soldiers returning from Afghanistan as well as military families and veterans.

Baccarin is set to play psychiatrist and solider Sterling in the drama, who is returning to the hospital after a nine month tour in Afghanistan.

Baccarin's absence from "Homeland" season 4 may not come as a shock - she rarely appeared in the third season, due to her pregnancy. She was in her third trimester for much of production.

"Homeland" showrunner Alex Gansa told The Hollywood Reporter in October that he had planned on cutting back her scenes: "She's not physically onscreen a lot, but her presence is there in a profound way for Brody and for Carrie," he said.

Baccarin's portrayal of Jessica Brody earned her an Emmy nomination for supporting actress.
