Jolla Sailfish OS Now Officially Released Commercially As Finnish Company Announces Version 1.0, Improves Visual, Landscape And Camera Performance

Jolla Sailfish OS: In case you are a fan of new mobile platforms, then you better watch out for Sailfish OS as it officially becomes commercially released alongside version 1.0. Previously, the mobile platform was in beta, even after the Jolla smartphone was launched.

In a report by GSM Arena today, the Finnish company has launched Sailfish OS 1.0, which provides a number of improvements to the already refreshing mobile platform. Some of these enhancements include better visual performance, more landscape mode features, new general settings interface, and improved camera functionality.

While these changes may not be considered 'revolutionary' by today's standards, at least the operating system is already in the market and enjoyed by its fair share of fans, unlike Samsung's Tizen OS, which has been under development for ages.

Comprised of former Nokia employees, Jolla is expecting so much from this operating system as it tries to bring back what could have been Nokia's best platform.

We all saw the N9, and it looked as promising as ever for Nokia's dying Symbian-based smartphone lineup. But instead of putting effort in developing its own platform, it shifted its loyalty to Microsoft and Windows Phone, and history knows what happened next.

With this new milestone for the Finnish manufacturer, we would expect Android fans to try the new mobile OS, especially that Jolla will be bringing an app that would enable them to switch from their mobile OS to Sailfish and vice versa.

So are you excited to try this fresh OS for your device?
