Cheap Android Phones 2014: Archos Unveils 3 Affordable Handsets Ahead Of MWC Launch, Boasts Midrange Specs, Pricing Starts At £99

Cheap Android Phones 2014: Archos is known for releasing cheap Android phones with decent specs, now it adds three more to its repertoire just in time before MWC next week.

First up is the Archos 50c Oxygen which boasts a 5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution, an octa-core chipset showcasing 8 Cortex-A7 cores running at 1.7GHz, 1GB of RAM and a Mali-450 GPU for decent graphics performance.

Also on board is an 8-megapixel camera, dual-SIM support and the usual connectivity features. The Archos 50c Oxygen costs £200.

Meanwhile, another affordable handset is the Archos 64 Xenon, a midrange device that has phablet-sized screen, given the number on its model name. This Android-powered handset boasts a 6.4-inch screen with the same 720p resolution as the 50c Oxygen, a quad-core Cortex-A7 chipset, and Mali-400 GPU.

The phone is powered by a 2,800mAh battery and has an 8-megapixel camera, and microSD card slot like the 50c Oxygen. It is also priced at £200.

Last but not the least is the 40b Titanium. While its name is somewhat solid and fearsome, it is the least-spec'd handset of the three, packing only a 4-inch WVGA screen, 512MB RAM, a 5-megapixel camera, a 1,400mAh battery, and dual-speakers in front. However, it makes up for the lower specs with a very affordable price of £99.

So is any of these Huawei phones of any interest for you? We expect them to be officially launched at the MWC in Barcelona on February 24.
