Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Alcatel Launches 3 Budget-Friendly Handsets With Midrange Specs, Pricing Starts At €89

Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Several hours before MWC officially begins, Alcatel announces three new devices which can be good options for the budget-conscious market.

First on the list is the Idol 2, which succeeds the original Idol which was released last year. The Android-powered handset packs a 5-inch display with 720p resolution, quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, an 8MP primary camera and a 1.3MP front cam, NFC support and LTE connectivity.

In case you are interested in getting the Alcatel Idol 2, you will need to pay €199 for the 3G model and €299 for the 4G LTE edition. 

The phone maker has also unveiled the Idol 2 mini which sports a smaller 4.5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution, an 8-megapixel camera, 2MP front cam, and 1.2GHz quad-core CPU. The Idol 2 mini costs €169 and £209 for the 3G and 4G editions respectively. 

Lastly is the entry-level handset dubbed Alcatel OneTouch Pop Fit which sports a smaller 2.8-inch QVGA screen, a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, 512MB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal memory and a 1,000mAh battery. 

The OneTouch Pop Fit also has an armband case, and pricing begins at €89. 

We expect the three smartphones to make their official debut today at MWC.
