iPhone 6 Release Date: Apple Ditches Gorilla Glass In Favor Of Sapphire Coating, Allegedly More Durable And Better Higher Scratch Resistance

iPhone 6 release date: With MWC 2014 almost done, we are now looking forward to the next big event as far as smartphone competition is concerned - Apple's release of the iPhone 6.

Past reports have been claiming a release in May or June, however that may not be the case. New reports say that the launch may still be held in September at Apple's annual launch event at its own backyard.

However, to compensate on the long wait, you may feel excited about the new sapphire screen coating on the new iPhone.

That means Apple and Gorilla Glass will finally part ways after years of partnership in the business.

In case you have missed on some rumors, the upcoming iPhone 6 is said to feature a bigger display with 2K resolution, probably within 4.7 and 4.7 inches.

The phone will also run on a new Apple chip, as well as a higher resolution camera to finally put to rest the 8-megapixel shooter that has graced the phone for the past couple of years.

Hopefully, the sapphire display will not disappoint.
