Kate Mara Hot Birthday Wish Is To Binge Watch the Rest of House of Cards; Joined House of Cards on Her Sister Rooney Mara's Advice

House of Cards Spoilers: Kate Mara is having a hot birthday. Kate will be binge watching House of Cards. Happy birthday, Kate Mara planned to watch House of Cards with everyone else on Valentine's Day. But she was keeping a secret. Kate Mara, The House of Cards actress, whose upcoming projects include "Fantastic Four" and the technological thriller "Transcendence," turns 31 today.

House Of Cards actress Kate Mara celebrated her birthday by letting it out that she hasn't actually watched all of House of Cards.

When Netflix debuted the second season of House of Cards on Valentine's Day, everyone stayed home to watch. Even President Obama called in well, you had to be sick to go to work that day. Obama took to Twitter to plea "Tomorrow: House of Cards. No spoilers, please" one day before the premiere. Even the GOP gave him a pass on that.

Not Kate.  When Mara was at the Maybelline New York and The Daily Front Row Fashion and Hollywood Luncheon she told In Touch, "I'm not done yet. I haven't seen the whole season. I thought I was going to binge on the first two days, but on Valentine's Day, I was so tired I only got to episode 5, so now I'm on episode 7."

Why? Because she was holding in a painful secret. Mara's character, Zoe, gets killed off. Kate shot her part last June, so she had to keep it to herself. She told In Touch "It's really nice not to have to keep that [secret]."

Kate Mara's great-grandfather is the founder of the New York Giants, Timothy Mara and Art Rooney, founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She has 22 aunts and uncles and 40 cousins. Her sister is actress Rooney Mara.

Kate's younger sister, Rooney Mara, was instrumental in getting Kate into House of Card. Rooney worked with director David Fincher on "The Social Network" and "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."

Kate told Zap2it. "I ask my sister for advice if I'm ever questioning whether to take a job. I called her for advice on Fincher when I first started working with him. It's such a special thing to have a family member doing the same job as you. She didn't start acting until much later, but it makes me feel sort of looked-after, having her and knowing that she 'gets' it."
