Xiaomi Mi4 Release Date: Rumored Specs Of Next Android Flagship Incl. 5.5-inch Display, Quad-Core Processor, 13MP Camera; Would This Be Xiaomi’s Global Device?

Xiaomi Mi4 release date: Rumored specs of the next Xiaomi device has been leaked, amidst all the attention the Chinese electronics manufacturer is getting for its continuing success with the Xiaomi Mi3. Sources suggested that the upcoming flagship will have a 5.5-inch HD display, a quad-core processor and high-end 13MP camera. Many speculate that this could be a Xiaomi unit designed for sale all over the world.

According to AnTuTu’s benchmark, specs of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi4 will include a 5.5-inch display, the most powerful version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC under the hood, which clocks in at 2.46GHz. The chipset is the same that Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One 2 has. It will also have a 13MP camera, 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Mi4 will be launched with the Android 4.3 and will support 4G LTE networks.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak recently gave his seal of approval for Xiaomi, saying that its good enough to challenge high-end models sold in the states. Wozniak says he has been using the manufacturer’s current high-end model, the Xiaomi Mi3.

In a report by Talk Android it noted that last year, Google’s Hugo Barra left the company to become Xiaomi’s vice president and later announced that the company had big plans set for the year 2014. Xiaomi has released some impressive devices in the past and according to a new report, the company will soon enter the U.S. market.

The current Xiaomi flagship is expected to be crowned as the best-selling handset in China for 2013. It sold 100,000 units in less than two minutes when it was first launched. However, the Mi3 has only been made available in China, Hong Kong and a few other Asian markets.

Xiaomi is expected to sell 40 million smartphones for the year 2014, twice the amount of what it sold in 2013. The Xiaomi Mi4 is a key move to accomplish their lofty targets. Though most Xiaomi handsets are available only in China and Hong Kong, it’s a huge possibility that the Mi4 maybe available for international markets.
