Downton Abbey Season 5 [SPOILERS]: Maggie Smith Confirmed As Michelle Dockery Supports Season 6 And Julian Fellowes

As filming for "Downton Abbey" season 5 continues, spoilers regarding the cast have surfaced.

As a lot of attention is being made on the future of "Downton Abbey" beyond season 5, one actress who is sticking around to the bitter end is actress Michelle Dockery.

"I am sticking with the show for however long the producers want it to go," affirms Mary's real-life counterpart according to E! Online.

But right now, the question is whether "Downton Abbey" will go beyond season 5, and possibly season 6.

"I don't know yet if there is a season six, but it's not going to go on forever. It won't be 'Perry Mason,'" says creator Julian Fellowes to The Wall Street Journal. "Unlike America, in England we have to wait until the season finishes airs before we receive a pick-up; we're not renewed multiple years in advance."

"We never want to jinx anything. That's good because it keeps everyone at the top of their game. If there is a sixth season, it may be our last. I'm about to start on a new US drama called 'The Gilded Age' for NBC Universal. And the last thing I want is to juggle two shows."

But Fellowes does have one other lynchpin for "Downton Abbey" season 5 or season 6, and that is Dame Maggie Smith.

"I refuse to do the show without her. It's an honor to not only watch her but to also write for her. She's inspiring."
