The Flyers scored twice in a 1:06 span in the first period after killing off two power plays in the first six minutes, and Wayne Simmonds broke a 2-2 with a power-play goal late in the second period during Saturday's loss for the Rangers.
"We had a couple chances on the power play there that we don't score on, and I think anytime as a team if you get two kills pretty early on in the game you're going to grab the momentum," New York captain Ryan Callahan told NHL.com. "Our first period wasn't where it needed to be, and it seems like we were kind of playing catch-up after that."
The Bruins have been known for their defense, but have actually allowed nine goals in their first two games since the break.
"I think at this point in time the areas that I guess we haven't been as good at need to be addressed because that's how we want to be as a team. We want to be held accountable to the areas that we didn't do as well tonight as I think we would like to," Bruins center Gregory Campbell told NHL.com. "I think there were some positives in the game, but I mean it's another loss. We really don't like to lose two games in a row. At this point in time, you're going to get best from every team. That team is fighting for a playoff spot. It's just some details in the game that as a team we make a point to focus on."
