‘Frozen’: Best Disney Movie Wins Oscars For Best Animated Film And Best Song For ‘Let It Go!’ Composer Robert Lopez Becomes Youngest EGOT Winner!

As expected, "Frozen" took home all the awards it was nominated for. It was the Best Animated Film and "Let It Go" was awarded Best Original Song.

The Oscar was the clincher for Robert Lopez, who co-wrote the song with his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Lopez now joins the elite ranks of EGOT winners (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) known as the 'Grand Slam' for composers, which exemplify music excellence in every field. He is also the youngest ever to join the club.

The husband and wife team distinguished themselves at the stage, as CTV News declares:

"Cutest acceptance speech of the night goes to songwriter Robert Lopez and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez, whose 'Let It Go' wins Best Original Song.

'To our fellow nominees, you are all rock stars -- literally,' the pair quip to Bono, Pharrell Williams, and Karen O. 'We have so many people to thank; luckily, everyone's name rhymes. Indina Menzel, Kristin Bell...' they begin, and it goes from there."

They also had a special greeting to John Lassiter, chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney: "Happy Oscars to you, Let's do Frozen 2"

Time Magazine also interviewed them prior to Oscar Night:

"Lopez:This is our first time to Hollywood for awards and we're thrilled. In our wildest dreams, somewhere in the past, you kind of dream about maybe getting an award. What you don't dream about is having a song like this that touches so many people. That's been the biggest surprise and the biggest joy. We have our reward every day on YouTube.

Anderson-Lopez: I know that sounds like a Hallmark card, but it's true.

Lopez: As for the EGOT thing, I love 30 Rock so I'm actually - if I could meet Tina Fey that would be even more special!"

Their best achievement would probably be placing Lassiter in the Hot Seat!
