Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Micromax Announces 5" Phablet With 'True Octa-Core' Chipset, Packs 2GB Of RAM, Full HD Display, 16MP Shooter
Upcoming Android phones 2014: The Mobile World Congress 2014 has already ended, but it looks like other manufacturers still want to catch some hype by releasing new devices.
According to a report by GSM Arena, phone maker Micromax has just unveiled a new smartphone and included it in its Canvas lineup.
Dubbed as the Canvas Knight, this 5-inch phablet is said to be powered by a 'true octa-core' MediaTek MT6592 chipset with each core clocked at 2GHz. As a result, the company claims the Canvas Knight to be a multi-tasking beast.
Also on board the newly-announced device is a SHARP Full HD (1080p) screen, 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera, and 32GB of internal storage straight out of the box.
There is also an 8-megapixel camera front-facer which is pretty high for a front cam, a 2,350mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Hopefully the manufacturer would update it to KitKat shortly for its buyers.
With all the high-end specs of the Micromax Canvas Knight, the report says that it would only retail for about $323 or 20,000 rupees in India.
So, is anyone excited for this Android-powered smartphone?
