Wii U Mario Kart 8 Release Date Limited Edition Expensive? Character Toy Bundle Package Price Not Announced By Nintendo

Nintendo announced a Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition bundle that includes a copy of the much-anticipated Wii U game and a special Spiny Shell collector's item, GameSpot.com reports, but the developer has not released the pricing details.

The price for the standard game will run for $60, but it remains unknown how much the limited edition will be, especially considering the fact that it includes a collector's item.

The Spiny Shell is a super-item that plays different functions throughout the game. It is also commonly referred to as Blue Shell.

Mario Kart 8 will have a May 30 release date exclusively for the Wii U, which is struggling to compete against rival next-generation consoles Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Nintendo is hoping Mario Kart 8 will bring more attention to its console as a first-party title, GameSpot.com also reports.
