‘Watch Dogs’ Release Date Officially Confirmed: Ubisoft’s Action-Adventure Video Game Arriving On May 27 For PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One And PC; Wii U Version Still In The Works

"Watch Dogs" release date has finally been announced.

Ubisoft recently revealed the official Watch Dogs release date for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC versions of the open-world hacking video game. As posted on VideoGamer, the game developer officially confirmed that Watch Dogs release date is set for May 27, 2014.

The EMEA Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Ubisoft, Geoffroy Sardin, said, "We are pleased to be able to reveal to gamers all over the world the new release date for Watch Dogs. We are extremely confident that the additional time we afforded the dev team to refine and polish the game will be more than worth the wait."

As posted on Gamespot, Watch Dogs release date was originally expected to happen last year, particularly at some point in November, as a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to Ubisoft, the delay was an "intense decision." However, as stated by Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, it was "ultimately the right one so the game could have expanded appeal."

Meanwhile, the Watch Dogs release date for the Wii U version has not yet been announced. But according to the publication site, the launch of Watch Dogs Wii U Version will "follow at a later date."

The senior producer of Watch Dogs, Dominic Guay, told Polygon that the Wii U version for the action-adventure game is still in development. He shared, "Yeah it's still alive. We still haven't defined a ship date for it, though. So it's on hold, to a certain extent for shipping."

Guay also added that it is still a "possibility" that Watch Dogs release date for Wii U will be set for this year. The producer mentioned, "We don't have a specific ship date for it yet so it's considered within the year. So we're going to look at that and we're going to let people know as soon as we figure out an exact date for it."
