Archer New Episodes Will Continue Through 2016; FX Renews Archer for Season 6 And 7; Two More Years to Sell That Cocaine

Archer was renewed by FX Through 2016. FX renewed its animated comedy-spy series "Archer" for Seasons 6 and 7. The two-season renewal comes even before the current Season 5 has completed its run.


The FX Network officially announced that Archer was renewed for another two seasons that will take the show through 2016. Archer's International Secret Intelligence Service has two more seasons to get rid of all that cocaine. FX also announced that Archer will be submitted into the best comedy series Emmy category this year.


Archer features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, who plays Archer, and Aisha Tyler. The animated favorite is on track to have one of its most-viewed seasons yet.


After learning the ISIS was never actually sanctioned by the U.S. government, Archer took an unexpected twist during season 5, which saw Sterling and the rest of ISIS shut down by the FBI and forced to scrape a living selling cocaine in Columbia. FX announced that its animated espionage comedy Archer was been renewed for two 13-episode seasons. FX picked up 13 new episodes for the sixth and seventh season and hinted that it continue past then.


Eric Schrier, FX Networks and FX Productions president of original programming, said, "Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX comedy brand. We're grateful to Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and their team at Floyd County, and also our incredible voice cast, and are looking forward to supporting their work for at least two more seasons."


Adam Reed, who created Archer, said. "I am figuratively over the moon."


Archer season five ends April 21.
