This will be the second and final meeting this season. These two teams met six days ago and Columbus won 4-2.
Artem Anisimov has been an unexpected contributor, totaling six goals and an assist over the past six games. He scored his fourth game-winning goal of that stretch Saturday, while Sergei Bobrovsky had 28 saves in a 1-0 win at Nashville, according to NHL.com.
"Really since coming back from the Olympic break, his game has been very good," coach Todd Richards said of Anisimov, a Russian Olympian. "He's a trustworthy player, smart player. So, defensive roles, penalty kill, but what we're seeing now is that offensive side of him, and we know he's a talented kid, passer, shooter. He's scoring some huge goals for us."
The trade for Tim Thomas will really come in handy now as Kari Lehtonen will be out after suffering a concussion in Dallas's previous game against the Wild on Saturday. The Stars did win that game for their second win in a row.
"Just that he's got it done before. He's a battler. He's played in pressure situations. He understands what it takes," Coach Lindy Ruff told the Stars' website. "He's won a couple of Vezinas. He's won a Stanley Cup. I think that bodes well for putting a guy in the net and he's had a good year to this point. We know we've got a real good contender that is going to step in and try to win us games.
