New Silent Hill Game 2014 [RUMOR]: 'Otherworld' Screencap And Release Date Coincides With Hideo Kojima Stepping Back From Metal Gear Solid

Although things have been quiet on the Silent Hill front, a new screencap has fans theorizing that Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima could be working on a new game for the horror franchise in 2014.

According to Just Push Start, a screencap of what appears to be a new Silent Hill game titled "Otherworld" has gone viral. What interesting about the image is that there is even an alleged release date of September 26, 2015.

So far, neither Konami nor Hideo Kojima has commented on the rumored new Silent Hill game, and many theorize that this could be fake.

While a 2015 release date is more likely for a new Silent Hill game than 2014, it is curious that such an announcement has already been decided by Konami.

In addition, some believe that the screencap utilizes graphics from Silent Hill: Downpour.

Which is not to say that a new Silent Hill game won't arrive in 2014 or 2015 with Kojima helming the reboot.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, Kojima reveals he would like to take a step back from Metal Gear Solid and move on to other games.

“I’ve been working in the Metal Gear franchise for over 25 years. This world has allowed me to tell a lot of the things that I wanted to say. That said, it has a very specific worldview and a very specific set of game elements. I’ll probably be saying this until I die, but there are still more things I want to tell, more things I want to communicate, and more things I want to experiment with.”
