'Covert Affairs’ Season 5 Cast Christopher Gorham Lobbies Against Anti-Gay Discrimination Bill; Will Auggie Be Affected With Annie Walker’s New Love Interest?

"Covert Affairs" season 5 cast Christopher Gorham helped lobby against an anti-gay discrimination bill in Arizona over the weekend.

Garbed in a white t-shirt that says "I Won't Stand for Homophobia," Christopher Gorham, who plays Auggie Anderson in USA's "Covert Affairs" season 5, was interviewed by KTVK Channel 3 during his visit to the state.

"The Arizona Legislature seems to be writing discrimination into the law books," said Christopher Gorham. "It's a very pretty way of saying, 'We're going to protect religious people's rights to discriminate.'"

He also handed out t-shirts similar to one he was wearing at the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, newnownext.com reported. He also gave out a talk to students as part of the cable network's "Characters Unite" campaign, which aims to support equality and tolerance.

While Christopher Gorham the person is pushing for gay rights, his character Auggie Anderson has another problem as Annie Walker will reportedly have a new love interest once "Covert Affairs" season 5 returns.

Annie Walker will supposedly be smitten with "McQuaid," a character described byTV Line as magnetic, charming and handsome Navy SEALS soldier turned private contractor/billionaire.

The Examiner  said Christopher Gorham's character Auggie Anderson might be affected by the arrival of McQuaid, particularly his feelings toward Annie Walker, said the Examiner.

"The couple definitely had trouble last season, and this new arrival could cause the pair even more trouble," Regina Avalos wrote.

"The guy's got a questionable past, sure (don't we all?), but that won't keep him and Annie from striking an undeniable spark - one that could last all... season... long," wrote Matt Webb Mitovich for TV Line.

"Covert Affairs" season 5 will again follow the story of Annie Walker (Piper Perabo), a CIA operative who was sent to work for Domestic Protection Division using the Smithsonian Museum as her cover. She is helped by Christopher Gorham's August (Auggie) Anderson, a visually impaired tech expert.

Executive producer Chris Ord in an earlier interview with TV Line said that "Covert Affairs" season 5 will start to focus on the relationship between Christopher Gorham's character and the character played by Piper Perabo some more.
