Install Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE; CyanogenMod 11 ROM Available For SM-N9000

Users of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can now install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

The official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has already been released for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. As posted on GSM Arena, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is now upgradeable to Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. The phablet was first released in September 2013, originally running with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

However, users who wish to use a custom ROM to update their phablet can still do so. According to a post on International Business Times, a custom firmware based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is available.

The CyanogenMod 11 Nightly ROM has been released by Android ROM developers specifically for the LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Particularly, the custom firmware based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update can be installed to Galaxy Note 3 bearing the model number SM-N9000.

The CyanogenMod 11 ROM for Galaxy Note 3 is based on the original Android Open Souce Project, bringing in the latest features of the KitKat OS. Moreover, the post on IB Times reads, "The ROM is also said to offer bloatware-free experience with a stock-like interface and zippy performance."

But before installing the CyanogenMod 11 ROM based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, users should know that there are some prerequisites to take into consideration first.

One, the CM11 ROM is only compatible on the LTE variant of Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Make sure to check the model number of the phablet and see if it is one of the SM-N9000 units.

Also, the battery level of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 should be 80 percent or higher before installing Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. This is to avoid power interruption issues that may occur because of low battery level during the installation process.

Make sure to make a backup of the important data and settings stored on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Custom recovery tools such as ClockWorkMod are recommended for the backup creation process.
