'Drop Dead Diva' Season 6 Update: Facebook Page Set Up To Seek Series' Extension; Colin Egglesfield Guest Stars In Two-Hour Premiere

"Drop Dead Diva" season 6 may be the hit series' last but a Facebook page asking fans to pressure the producers to extend the show has been set up. Meanwhile, the show's creators also took it to their official Facebook page to announce that Colin Egglesfield will guest star in the series.

The official Facebook page of "Drop Dead Diva" season 6 showed a photo of Colin Eggsfield whispering something to Lex Medlin, who plays Owen French.

The photo came with the caption: “No need to whisper, Colin Egglesfield (“Client List”), we're SO excited to see you in the special 2hr Season 6 premiere of #DropDeadDiva in 10 DAYS!”

After the announcement of Lifetime that “Drop Dead Diva” season 6 is the series' last and final season, the online petition for the show's extension has already garnered sympathy. The Facebook page seeking to extend the show has already garnered 6,108 likes and counting.

The Facebook fan page “Return Button for Drop Dead Diva” is asking fans to “help us save it or find a new home for it. Pls sign our Petition & share with friends. ♥”

The description for the fan page of “Drop Dead Diva” season 6 read: A page created for all Diva fans to find everything they need to get involved regarding Drop Dead Diva. After Season 4, the page's purpose was to find a new network DIVA can call home! Happily it was brought back in 2013.”

Lifetime already cancelled "Drop Dead Diva" during the fifth season, Hollywood Reporter said, because of some money problems. The network, however, revived the show three months later after the network and Sony Pictures Television crafted a financial model that was cost-effective.

Another reason was the steady decline of its ratings, “Drop Dead Diva” season 5 only reached 1.99 million average viewers from the 2.84 million average in its first season.

“Drop Dead Diva” season 6 follows the professional and personal life of a model who was killed in a car crash and reincarnated as a lawyer. It stars Brooke Elliot, Margaret Cho, April Bowlby.

According to TV Guide, “Drop Dead Diva” season 6 entitled “Truth & Consequences; Soulmates” will have Jane (Brooke Elliot) accept a pro bono case to help an ex-convict, who's now working as a lunch lady fight to fund school meals for impoverished students.
