iPad Pro Rumors: 12.9" Apple Slate Will Not Launch This Year After All, Due To Lack Of Developer Support, Dismal Sales Of Devices In Similar Size Range

iPad Pro rumors: For the past several months, we have been hearing and reading a lot about Apple's rumored 12.9" slate dubbed as the iPad Pro or Maxi (though we prefer the former). Unfortunately, it looks like the Cupertino company is not going to release the tablet this year after all.

According to a report from BGR, Apple has reportedly ditched its plans of releasing the 12.9-inch tablet due to the lack of support from platform developers. In the report by DigiTimes, "large-size tablet projects face difficulties because of lack of support from related platform developers and ecosystems."

In addition, vendors of devices with similar size range are having a difficult time selling their stocks. As the report puts it, they are struggling in keeping expectations high for such devices.

For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 Pro was seen as a direct rival to the unannounce iPad Pro. But after more than a month in the market, it has not gained steam just like other smaller Samsung-made devices in the Android platform.

Of course we can always look at it from the Android platform's point of view, which could still provide some promise for the iOS-powered iPad Pro.

Unfortunately, Apple is not the type of company that flourishes in taking risks. Just take the iPhone design for example. It took the company years just to upgrade to a bigger screen, and another year for another iPhone style made of plastic.

So by this, it could mean the end of the iPad Pro rumor for this year, unless Apple changes its mind.
