Install Official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update On Samsung Galaxy S3; International Variant With Model Number GT-I9300 Receives XXUGNB4 Firmware

Samsung Galaxy S3 owners can now download and install the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean stock firmware.

According to GSM Arena, there is a plan to update Samsung Galaxy S3 with Google's latest mobile operating system, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. But for the meantime, while the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is yet to arrive for the 2012 smartphone flagship device of the South Korean manufacturer, Samsung Galaxy S3 users can install the latest stock firmware based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean first.

As posted on International Business Times, the firmware I9300XXUGNB4 is currently available for the international variant of Samsung Galaxy S3. Particularly, this pertains to units with model number GT-I9300.

Samsung Galaxy S3 owners can install the latest and official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update through Over-The-Air or OTA notification. Moreover, Galaxy S3 owners can also opt to install the Androi d 4.3 Jelly Bean update via the desktop tool, Samsung KIES. Since the firmware is an unbranded version, it can be installed to any factory unlocked units of Samsung Galaxy S3.

Users who have not received the OTA update yet can opt for the manual installation process. But before installing the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on Samsung Galaxy S3, there are important requirements to take into consideration first.

One, the firmware is only compatible with the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S3. Thus, it is necessary to double check the model number of the smartphone. Again, the device should bear the model number GT-I9300.

The battery level of the Samsung Galaxy S3 needs to be 80 percent or more to avoid power interruption issues during the installation process.

Enable USB Debugging mode on the device.

Make sure to create a backup of the relevant data and settings stored on the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 as the installation process might wipe out the phone' content.
