‘Winds Of Winter’ Ending Revealed By George R.R. Martin To 'Game Of Thrones' Creators; Writers Of HBO's Hit Series Craft Backup Plan

The ending of "Winds of Winter" has already been revealed by author George R.R. Martin to the creators of HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" while the rest of the world awaits. The show's writers apparently wanted to know if they are on the right track and whether they write a backup plan.

"Game of Thrones" writers and producers Dan Weiss and David Benioff narrated toVanity Fair in its April issue that they sought out George R.R. Martin in Sta. Fe, New Mexico last year and stayed there for a week to know his vision for "Winds of Winter."

They described the encounter with the author of "Winds of Winter" as just "talking through where things are going," because they are afraid that the TV series "Game of Thrones" would catch up with the book.

"If you know the ending, then you can lay the groundwork for it. And so we want to know how everything ends. We want to be able to set things up. So we just sat down with him and literally went through every character," David Benioff said.

And they might have gone home disappointed as George R.R. Martin told the magazine that he can provide the "broad strokes" of what he wants to write for "Winds of Winter". As to the details, they are not there yet.

"I'm hopeful that I can not let them catch up with me," the author said.

In episode 1 of "Game of Thrones" season 4 to premier on April 6, Tyrion Lannister will host a guest to King's Landing. Jon Snow finds himself cast out of Castle Black and younger sister Arya will find an old friend.

The "Game of Thrones" creator claimed that whatever happens with George R.R. Martin's book they have a backup plan. Hopefully, they won't follow the author's lead and have a red comet fall out of the sky and kill all of Westeros!
