'Homeland' Season 4 Spoilers: Will Fara Travel To Istanbul With Carrie? Nazanin Boniadi Promoted To Series Regular, Will Have A 'Key Role' After Air Date

"Homeland" season 4 spoilers reveal that Fara will have a "key role" after the air date - will she travel to Istanbul with Carrie? The actress who plays Fara, Nazanin Boniadi, was just promoted to series regular in "Homeland" season 4.

According to a statement from Showtime (reported by SpoilerTV):

"Showtime and FOX 21 announced today that acclaimed actress Nazanin Boniadi, who guest-starred in season three of the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning drama HOMELAND, will return as a series regular for season four. Boniadi plays Fara Sherazi, the strong-willed Muslim CIA analyst who Saul (Emmy and Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin) recruited for her expertise in international banking. Like Carrie (Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award winner Claire Danes), Fara shares a passion for justice and ends up enlisting her relatives in Tehran to help Carrie's secret mission in the final episodes of season three. Season four finds Fara in a key role working for Carrie at the CIA. The network's No. 1 rated series with seven million weekly viewers, Homeland begins production on season four this summer and will premiere in the fall on Showtime."

Looks like Fara will be part of Carrie's team in Istanbul who will assist in her new role as field agent.

"Homeland" showrunner Alex Gansa previously told TVLine that producers were discussing Carrie's new team when she heads to Turkey in season 4.

"One of the ideas that we're really toying around with next year is [to have] Carrie go and do what she was trained to do, and that is be a case officer in a foreign country," Gansa teased in December. "And as she mentioned to Sen. Lockhart [Tracy Letts], she gets to choose her own people. So Quinn [Rupert Friend], Fara [Nazanin Boniadi] . . . Virgil [David Marciano] and possibly Max [Maury Sterling] may come along with her. We get to bring some of our familiar faces overseas."

As we previously reported, the "Homeland" season 4 premiere date has been unclear ever since the last episode of season 3 aired on December 15, 2013. But now when you type "Homeland" into Google, the search engine shows the air date of season 4, episode 1 as October 19, 2014.

While the premiere date of "Homeland" season 4 hasn't been confirmed, this is certainly some news to go on.
