iPhone 5c Release Date: Colored Plastic-Covered iPhone To Be Available In 8GB Version To Cut Price, A Desperate Move To Sell?

iPhone 5c release date: When rumors pointed to a plastic and cheaper version of the iPhone 5s in September, all of us were very excited about it - especially those who want to try an iPhone but do not have the budget for the high-end model.

However, when the iPhone 5c was released in September, we can't help but scratch our heads with its steep pricing.

What was Apple thinking?

In consequent reports later, Apple CEO himself said that the company will not release 'cheap' devices because the manufacturer is a premium-device maker.

So almost half a year later, those 'premium' plastic phones are still in dealers and factories, acquiring dust, says recent reports.

Now, it looks like Apple has found a way to sell at least a portion of those. In a report by GSM Arena, several carriers already have stocks for the 8GB model of the iPhone 5c.

Two major EU carriers will launch the 8GB model starting tomorrow, March 18, and is expected to cost €60 less than the 16GB edition. While this may not be the price cut everyone is expecting, it might still persuade some to grab the plastic-covered iPhone.

Here are some of the leaked images which prove the existence of the iPhone 5c 8GB model.
