Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date For New Sony Smartphones Detailed, LG G2 International Edition Gets Update As Well

Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date: Do you own a Sony Xperia Z1 and you've been waiting for the Kitkat update for months? Then this will certainly be great news.

According to a report by GSM Arena today, Sony has just released the details for the Kitkat update for its recent devices, including the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, and Xperia Z1 Compact. 

And guess what? The update is already rolling out right at this very moment! That means you just need to connect to the Internet either through mobile data or Wi-Fi, and check for updates on your phone  or device's settings tab. 

Some of the changelogs in the report include:

  • Better overall Android performance, stability and security
  • Compatibility with Sony Playstation 4 features
  • Improved and updated Sony Xperia apps
  • Xperia Themes

While there are other devices from Sony that do not have the Kitkat update yet, the report claims that development for these handsets is already underway. 

Some of the devices which would also get Android Kit Kat soon are the Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, and the Tablet Z.

Meanwhile, another report says that the LG G2 international edition is getting the update as well, so you may want to check your phone for updates via OTA.
