While Pattinson and Perry previously said that they were nothing but friends, an insider claimed that the two have "taken their friendship to the next level" following Perry's split from John Mayer.
Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry were first linked when a video emerged showing them singing 'I'll Make Love to You'. During their karaoke duet, the 'Roar' songstress subtly gave the 'Twilight' hunk a lap dance.
According to The Stir's source, Pattinson's the one who has been comforting Perry when it comes to her love woes with John Mayer whom she dated for 18 months. The initially friendly text messages reportedly escalated to flirtations.
"Since he's been single, though, the texts have hotted up -- she loves drunk texting him and they're always flirty," said the source. Since the 'Water for Elephants' actor is currently in Toronto for the filming of 'Life', Perry will allegedly plan a secret visit.
