Brittany Murphy Death Update: Brittany Murphy's Final Film, Seductive Thriller `Something Wicked' To Hit Theaters; Four Years After Brittany Murphy's Death, Questions Remain

Brittany Murphy's final film, Something Wicked, will finally be released more than four years after her death.


Brittany Murphy's final film will hit theaters. It has been four and a half years since Brittany Murphy's unexpected death, which some classify as mysterious. Brittany Murphy is said to have done some of her best work in the posthumous film. Brittany Murph died in December 2009.


The last movie Brittany Murphy made before her death, the independent thriller "Something Wicked" is going to debut on April 4 in Eugene, Oregon, where the movie was filmed in 2009.


In a press release Merchant Films described the R-rated last film of Brittany Murphy as a "hauntingly seductive thriller about obsession and young love gone wrong."
"Something Wicked" stars Brittany Murphy along with actor John Robinson. It also features James Patrick Stuart and Julian Morris. The film will debut April 4 at the Regal Theater in Eugene, Oregon and then be released nationwide.


The new Brittany Murphy film tells the story of a newlywed couple whose marriage is sabotaged by a psychotic and manipulative friend. Shantel VanSanten, John Robinson, costar in the movie along with the late actress.

Brittany Murphy's was 32 when she died in December 2009.Brittany Murphy's father, Angelo Bertolotti, believes his daughter was poisoned because of contact with a government whistleblower. The actress' mother, Sharon Murphy, disagreed strongly. Julia Davis, the investigative reporter who's story is at the heart of the conspiracy at the center of the controversy, clarified media discrepancies to Kpopstarz.According to CNN, the Los Angeles County coroner ruled Murphy's death a combination of pneumonia, iron deficiency and intoxication from several drugs.


Something Wicked also stars Shantel VanSanten "One Tree Hill" and "Lords of Dogtown" 


VanSanten talked about Brittany Murphy in a January 2010 interview with TV Guide, saying "She had the most infectious personality and it was really great to work with her. I was completely shocked when I found out that she passed away."


In 2011 Something Wicked producer and screenwriter Joe Colleran told USA Today "Brittany pulled off one of the spookiest scenes in the movie. There's an important scene where her character is unraveling and she spent a long time getting ready and focused and went for it. Personally, I think it's one of the best scenes of her career."
The official Facebook page of Something Wicked posted the note "The better we do in theaters, the more cities will be added so we need your help getting the word out. Full press release to be posted shortly. Stay Wicked!"


Brittany Murphy was found dead in December 2009 in her Hollywood Hills. She was 32. At the time, Murphy's cause of death was ruled as a combination of pneumonia, anemia, and prescription drug intoxication.


Five months after Brittany Murphy's death, her husband, Simon Monjack, died of acute pneumonia and severe anemia. Last December, speculation surrounding Murphy's death resurfaced after a lab report, commissioned by the Murphy's father Angelo Bertolotti,  found rat poison found in Murphy's hair. The county coroner dismissed the charges.An L.A. County Coroner's Office spokesman told Us Weekly, "We have not seen the lab results from her dad or been contacted by him. Our autopsy stands right now as is."


Brittany Murphy rose to fame after starring in movies like Clueless (1995), 8 Mile (2002), and Sin City (2005). She also starred in Girl, Interrupted, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Don't Say a Word, Just Married, Uptown Girls, and Little Black Book.
