Person Of Interest Season 3 Spoilers: Daniel Casey Returning! Will He Help Stop Decima And The Samaritan?

In Person of Interest episode 16, "Ram", the show introduced a new but vital character - Daniel Casey. This is also the same episode where the show explained how Finch and Reese first met.
Casey is a freelance hacker who Harold saved in 2010 when he was still working with Dillinger. Casey is a skilled hacker with the ability to test computer system's security. He got involved in testing "The Machine" during its earlier stage of operation.
Reese (Jim Caviezel) managed to save his life by giving him a new identity. But, at the end of the episode, we're back in 2014 and saw Root (Amy Acker) visiting Casey and recruiting him as part of "The Machine's" plan.
Viewers still has no clue as to what Casey's role will be in the season. However, as reported by Matt Webb Mitovich from TVLine, Nolan confirmed that Casey would indeed be back.
At this point, Root is trying to build a small "army" to go against The Machine's enemies, viewers still has no clues as to where the show is heading.
But, one thing is confirmed - Casey is part of that army and viewers can expect to see him again before the season ends.
Could this mean that Casey will help in defeating Decima and his army?
Everyone knows that Casey is skilled and capable enough when it comes to computer stuff. After all, he was able to get into the backdoor of "The Machine" during its earlier stage of operation.
It has also been confirmed that Root is trying to build an army against Decima, which includes Casey.
On top of that, Nolan also confirmed to TVLine that they'll giving a "f-king giant hot mess" when the season finale comes.
Show's EP Plageman also said, "Hopefully, our heroes have some tricks up their sleeves to ensure that we don't find ourselves in an 'AI arms race' as the clock ticks down."
Could Casey be one of the group's "secret tricks" to help win the upcoming battle?
