Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Rumored To Be Waterproof, LG Tipped To Launch First Water-Resistant Device In The G3

Upcoming Android phones 2014: A couple of years ago, Sony made water-resistance popular when it launched the Xperia Z. Fast forward to 2014 and it looks like being waterproof would be one of the most sought after-features in any flagship device.

And a new report allegedly supports this claim.

According to a report by BGR, a Korean website has reported that Samsung and LG's upcoming flagship devices would both sport a waterproof body.

In the report by IT Today, both phones will use exactly the same waterproof casing that protects the freshly announced Galaxy S5 from water and liquid. The report certainly does not say that both upcoming high-end devices would get the 'dotted matrix' design of the Galaxy S5, but it sure is a terrible thought to imagine.

The smartphone competition has certainly come a long way, from mere specs, to design and now to features which most people thought to be useless in the past. Several years ago, no one in his right mind would directly place his mobile phone in a wet area, but that has changed since then.

When Nokia first ventured into the camera phone competition almost a decade ago, the megapixel wars began - and it is still fought until today. Who knows when this 'water-resistance' battle will end?
