Jennifer Lopez' ‘I Luh Yah Papi’ Lip Sync On American Idol Earns Fans’ Ire; Travel Show Host George Zimmern Tweets “Did @jlo Just Lip Sync?”

Jennifer Lopez' lip sync performance of her latest track "I Luh Yah Papi" on "American Idol" Wednesday has earned the ire of fans and the media alike. Travel Show host George Zimmern was so incredulous that he had to tweet about what he witnessed.

"Did @jlo just lip sync?"I am on DVR here. Is this already a "thing" with #idol fans? This is a singing show right?" George ZImmern tweeted.

Ice Diddy tweeted: "Yo, JLo. You're a judge on American Idol a LIVE singing competition. Try not to lip sync the next time you perform live. K. Thanks. Bye."

Nicholas Munk added: "@JLo what happened to music? People getting ecstatic over a lip sync performance, not even written by the artist...Terrible."

Apparently, Jennifer Lopez lip sync on "American Idol" was magnified when her mouth didn't match the lyrics of the back track. MailOnline, however, pointed out that the 44-year-old singer was clearly singing the a cappella opening with "American Idol" alums Jessica Sanchez, Pia Toscano and Allison Iraheta.

Ashleigh Rainbird of UK's Mirror pointed out the hypocrisy in Jennifer Lopez lip sync row ob "American Idol:"

"If you're a judge on a talent show, and your job is to critique people's sing-ing ability, the last thing you would ever do is mime. Right? Yet viewers have blasted Jennifer Lopez for appearing to mime on American Idol - after criticising live singers," she wrote.

While Jennifer Lopez was mum about her lip sync controversy on "American Idol," she did admit that "all performers" rely on back track at some point.

When prompted for reaction on Beyonce's lip sync performance on President Obama's inauguration, Jennifer Lopez told host Jon Stewart on "The Daily Show": "You know, sometimes it happens. When you're in certain stadiums and in certain venues, they do pre-record things."
