But now, Samsung Galaxy S4 owners in UK can now experience the latest Google mobile operating system, as the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the 2013 flagship smartphone has already been released.

As posted on International Business Times, the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update comes with build number XXUFNBH1 and it is currently available for the international LTE versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Particularly, the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE bearing the model numbet GT-I9505.

Reportedly, the firmware is available as an exclusive Over-The-Air update for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE owners connected to EE network. It can also be accessed using the Samsung KIES desktop tool.

Samsung Galaxy S4 owners outside UK can expect the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to available in their region soon, as the firmware is being released in stages. Those who missed the OTA update for the official Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update on their Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE can visit this IB Times post to learn the detailed process of the manual installation process.

However, it should be noted that the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update currently available is an EE-branded firmware; thus, it can only be installed on Samsung Galaxy S4 units in the UK. There are some requirements that should be met first before proceeding with the actual installation process and below are some:

Make sure that the battery level of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is 80 percent or more. This is to avoid power interruption issues once the installation process begins.

Create a backup of the important settings and data stored on the Samsung Galaxy S4 using custom recovery tools such as ClockWorkMod.

Enable USB Debugging mode on the smartphone by going to Settings > Developer Options.
