Chris Evans Movies List To End Soon; 'Captain America' Actor Thinks It's Finally Time For Him To Go Behind The Camera And Direct Films

Chris Evans' movies specifically 'Captain America' might have gained a wife fan base but it won't stop the 32-year-old actor from resigning as an actor. Recently, Evans just completed his first directorial duty for '1:30 Train', a love story filmed on Manhattan's Lower East Side. This further motivated the actor to quit acting and go behind the camera.

Chris Evans' movie contract for Marvel Studios includes six films involving well-loved superhero Captain America. Evans has already finished three films: 'Captain America', 'The Avengers', and 'Captain America: Winter Soldier'. He will soon start filming 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron'. Evans believes that he'll be able to finish his commitments by 2017.

"I've known for a while I wanted to direct. But [time] never really opens up. There's another movie to do, there's another acting job. It just got to a point where I was like, 'You know what - I have to do this,' " he told Variety.

He also added: "If I'm acting at all, it's going to be under Marvel contract, or I'm going to be directing. I can't see myself pursuing acting strictly outside of what I'm contractually obligated to do."

Despite his passion for directing, the 'What's Your Number?' actor likewise acknowledges the fact that he won't be able to nab his first directing job if not for his movies: "Without these movies, I wouldn't be directing. They gave me enough overseas recognition to greenlight a movie. And if I'm speaking extremely candidly, it's going to continue to do that for as long as the Marvel contract runs."

The Sudbury-born actor might be retiring but it doesn't mean that he'll forever close his doors for acting:  "For all I know, in five years, I might say, 'I miss acting'. Right now, I just want to get behind the camera and make movies."
