‘Taken 3’ Release Date Confirmed! Liam Neeson Says He Agreed To Come Back For Producers Promised That No One Would Be Taken

While the story of 'Taken' is fairly simple, the movie franchise has been deemed successful. Liam Neeson's skills as former CIA operative Brian Mills greatly contributed to the film's fame. For this reason, it has been officially confirmed that Neeson and his on-screen family would return for 'Taken 3'.

In the first film, Brian's daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace), gets kidnapped while on a French vacation. After a series of near-death fight scenes, Brian was able to save her from the hands of human traffickers. In 'Taken 2', Brian and his wife were abducted by the vengeful fathers of the human traffickers Brian killed. Since the film franchise has a repeating theme, which character will be abducted in 'Taken 3'?

Surprisingly, no one will be taken. According to Neeson, he agreed to do 'Taken 3' as long as no one would be kidnapped: "They called me up and I said, 'I'll do it... but only as long as nobody gets taken.'"

According to Deadline, the first 'Taken' movie managed to earn $226 million on a budget worth $25 million. On the other hand, 'Taken 2' made $376 million on a $45 million budget. Will 'Taken 3' become as successful as its forerunner?

'Taken 3's' initial release date is January 9, 2015.
