Emma Watson Pregnant Role In ‘Noah’ A Labor Of Love; British Actress Says Her Flatmate Is Horrified For She Practiced Contraction Noises For Weeks!

Emma Watson's pregnant role in 'Noah' movie doesn't only involve tummy costume for it required the British actress to study and observe the things an actual pregnant woman goes through. In  'Noah' movie, Emma Watson plays the role of Noah's (Russel Crowe) adopted daughter, Ila.

In the movie, the 'Harry Potter' actress is married to Shem (Douglas Booth). Apart from the challenge that comes with the giant flood, Ila likewise has to deal with pregnancy woes while staying in a giant animal-filled ark.

To prepare for Emma Watson's pregnant role, the Oxford University student said she watched YouTube videos until the wee hours of the morning: "My flatmate has horror stories for you. She'd come through the doors in the evening and I would be on the ground practicing these insane noises. Contractions make you make these very specific sounds."

Watson, who told Reuters that she became "obsessive" with her role, even asked midwives to mentor her during the scene: "Any pregnant woman anywhere, I'd be like, 'Can I talk to you? Can I talk to you about your experience?' I spoke to my own mother a lot, obviously, and then I watched a lot of YouTube videos of natural births, lots of documentaries, spoke to midwives, just any information I could get my hands on, really."

What motivated the 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' star to prepare for her role?

"I see so many births in films, and I'm like, 'That didn't look like she just gave birth. She isn't even sweating! She didn't break a sweat! This is ridiculous!' So I wanted it to look authentic," she shared.
