Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae Grace the Cover of Singaporean Newspaper
Hip hop musician couple Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae proved their popularity by being featured on the front page of Singapore’s daily newspaper The Straits Times, after successfully concluding music conference ‘Music Matters 2012’ in Singapore on May 24.
The May 31 issue of The Straits Times stated, “Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae are South Korea’s Jay-Z and Beyonce,” and covered the couple’s struggles and impact in Korean music industry.
The couple appeared in Music Matters alongside of Bizzy and MIB delivering a grand performance of the grand finale in front of 600 music representatives and 2,000 fans around the world.
The editor in chief of Tokyo Billboard, Rob Schwartz, reported on Billboard biz, “Tiger JK is the godfather of rap in Korea. Tiger JK and his wife mesmerized everyone with their energy and flow.”
Tiger JK had already caught the attention of many music fans as he covered the main page of LA Times last year with the title ‘Asian rapper set to roar across L.A.” As well as being selected in the 10 Hot International Hip-Hop Artists You Need to Know by popular music magazine Rolling Out.
Tiger JK also grabbed first place on popular Brazil music site ‘BHA’ as fans voted for K-Pop music which surprised everyone as he surpassed Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee and Big Bang proving Tiger JK’s popularity even in Brazil.
It seems Yoon Mirae and Tiger JK are aspiring to spread Korean Hip-Hop also known as K-Hop following suit of the spread of K-Pop worldwide.
