Darren Star’s ‘Younger’ Top Billed By Hilary Duff, Sutton Foster A ‘Sex In The City’ Spinoff? TV Land Introduces Characters Audience Will ‘Love And Hate’

Darren Star's "Younger," dubbed as a "Sex in the City" spinoff comedy and stars Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff. , will be airing this fall. TV Land has ordered 12 episodes of the sitcom that will introduce characters audience will "love and hate."

The "Sex in the City" spinoff will star Sutton Foster as Liza , a single mother who at 40 is already considered too old to re-enter the workforce. So she got a brilliant idea to pass herself off as 26 to land a job after a chance encounter with a young man who told her that she looks young for her age.

Hilary Duff, meanwhile, will play Kelsey who will become Liza's co-worker and ally,Variety said.

Darren Star's "Younger" will also feature Debi Mazar of "Entourage" as Liza's best friend, who also helped in her makeover, and Miriam Shor of CGB as her boss, for the eclectic cast of four women to complete the concept of a "Sex in the City" spinoff.

In a statement by TV land, president Larry W. Jones said: "Everyone at TV Land is so passionate about this show and working with Darren. "Younger's" serialized style is different for us, yet fits our brand with its humor and relatability. These are compelling characters that our audience will root for, love and love to hate."

Darren Star's "Younger" will be shot in New York (the domain of Carrie Bradshaw, of course) and is set to air in fall.

For his part, creator Darren Star said that "there's nothing better than making a single camera film comedy in New York - and I'm thrilled to be doing this one with TV Land."

"Larry Jones, Keith Cox and their entire team have been incredibly supportive. Looking forward to working with our awesome cast led by my Broadway crush Sutton Foster," the executive producer added.
