Ian Somerhalder's new girlfriend after Nina Dobrev remains a mystery but the 'Vampire Diaries' actor has been spotted attending several events with his female date, Molly Swenson. The couple first attended a party hosted by Details magazine at 41 Ocean in Santa Monica, California.

The two were reportedly inseparable that night. Somerhalder likewise took the chance to introduce Swenson to the attendees which they came across with that night. After the party, they then headed to a Treats magazine-hosted cocktail event at James Goldstein's mansion in Beverly Hills, California.

"Ian got off the golf cart, and was wearing a leather jacket and his hair was tousled underneath a cap. As he was walking towards the steps of Club James, he was greeted by two people from the event who introduced himself. They shook hands with Ian smiled, and began ushering the group inside," claimed one of the sources of E! News.

As for Somerhalder and Swenson, they were allegedly "following closely behind casually holding hands. They seemed happy, casual, and enjoying the evening."

However, it isn't clear whether Somerhalder plans on pursuing a romantic relationship with Swenson for the two might simply be working on a meaningful cause. After all, the Harvard graduate Swenson is currently sits as the Chief Operations Officer of RYOT, an online media industry which also tags itself as a "cause-based, social activist agency."

Swenson likewise oversees the company's other facets including RYOT News, RYOT Film, RYOT Creative, and RYOT Foundation which are all responsible for holding youth and disaster relief programs worldwide.
