Ryan Seacrest 'American Idol' Contract To End Soon? FOX Host 'Fed Up' Of Interviewing People And Wants To Focus More On Producing

Ryan Seacrest's 'American Idol' contract might end soon because the 39-year-old host is allegedly losing the passion to spearhead the interviews of the contestants. The FOX series, which started in 2002, is likewise on the brink of being cancelled because of its declining ratings.

"He's lost the passion for it, and desperately wants to do different things at this point in his career, like produce the Oscars and start developing more of his original ideas," told one source to Radar Online.

Ryan Seacrest's 'American Idol' contract for two years is priced at $30 million. However, despite the attractive compensation package, Seacrest reportedly wants to pursue his passion for producing more shows like 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'.

"Ryan's reduced role in this year's Emmys red carpet coverage is a clear move toward a life that involves less hosting and more producing. He wants to transition to behind the scenes more, and is getting fed up with the 'interviewing people' part of his job, when his heart is really in the work he does as a producer," explained the source.

However, if ever Seacrest decides to end his contract, he might not have a smooth exit for 'American Idol' will reportedly ask for a huge portion of the money which they paid the American radio and television personality.
